Unit Title:
Buzzing for Blooms: How pollinators such as bees and butterflies work together with plants for pollination.
Time Frame:
One Month-24 class days
Brief Description: In this Buzzing for Blooms unit, students will learn about pollinators such as bees and butterflies and how they work to perform a common goal; pollination. Students will learn about the basic needs of animals through study, care and observations of live caterpillars and will understand that all animals have a life cycle as they go through this process. As a result of this unit students will have an understanding that this process can affect human life. This unit contains videos, stories, journals, drawings, pollination and scent simulations, diagramming and hands on and cooperative work. This unit applies to the subjects of Language Arts, Reading, and Science.
