Interests

I love exploring this wonderful area we call the Keeweenaw Peninsula! We have such a variety of things to see and do in our own backyard that finding one favorite pastime is hard for me to do. I like to hike local nature trails, go kayaking in many of our areas lakes and rivers, golf (this is a game that challenges me and keeps me grounded), garden in my own backyard, do art and craft projects and spend time with family and friends. When I'm not exploring our local area I enjoy traveling to see the world that is out there and learning about its history and culture.

Causes of Interest

Relay For Life

This is a cause near and dear to my heart. Many of my family members have been diagnosed with some form of cancer. Some have have won their battle, some have lost and some are still fighting and living with cancer every day. This cause became even more important to me when my husband was diagnosed with kidney cancer.  He had surgery and was considered cured. In the fall of 2010 we had a scare of a possible relaps. This news came when I was five months pregnant with our daughter. I couldn't imagine my life and our daughter's life without him in it.  My need to fight became even stronger.  This is why this cause is so important to me. I will keep continuing the fight until there is a cure!
